Description: Equitex is an easy to use, non-sterile, all purpose poultice dressing which can be used as a hot, cold or dry dressing.

Pack Size: 44g x 20cm x 40cm multi-layered poultice dressing. Available in single bandages or display boxes of 10.

Directions for Use:
 
Hot Poultice Dressing

Cut the dressing to size and place in a shallow tray of boiled water which hasbeen allowed to cool to 38°C. Once saturated, remove the dressing and gently squeeze out excess water. Place poultice on the affected area with the plastic backing away from the skin. Hold in place with a stretch conforming, elastic adhesive or cohesive bandage. For open wounds, normal antiseptic precautions must be taken.

Cold Poultice Dressing
After soaking the dressing in boiled water, allow to cool thoroughly then apply to the affected area. The dressing can also be chilled in the refrigerator in the outer plastic bag. Dry Dressing/Pressure Padding Simply apply the dressing to the affected area and bandage with a stretch conforming elastic or adhesive bandage.

Precautions: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. When using the product, wear elbow length rubber gloves and wash hands after use. After each day’s use, wash gloves. Equitex should not be used in conjunction with any other medical preparations except with the advice of a veterinarian. Consult your vet before applying the poultice to infected wounds. Ensure the bandage is not applied too tightly, and that the poultice is not too hot.
 
Apply with the plastic backing away from the skin. The dressing should be renewed at least once every 12 hours.

Special Features: Equitex is a high quality cotton dressing with a non woven gauze covering and plastic on the reverse side. Equitex has a non-abrasive cover, making it gentle on skin. Equitex retains shape when wet (will not stretch or fall apart). Also contains Tragacanth.
